Almanac Island 2016 Recap

Almanac Dinner Video by NXT Level

Last month on August 7th, we had the pleasure of feeding 162 guests at our sold out Almanac Island Dinner at Artscape Gibraltar Point. Collaborating with Pass the Table App, we once again threw a party to remember with live music, drinks and dancing. Our all star line up of Toronto chefs crafted some brilliant dishes.

Robbie Hojilla (The Harbord Room) and Jeff LaPointe (Nomad) started the evening off with a clambake; unctuous bites of boudin noir, corn and lobster.

Ending the night off on a delicious sweet note with two desserts, Charlotte Langley (Scout Canning) and Victor Barry (Piano Piano) served a raclette covered grilled sourdough with grilled peaches and smoked creme fraiche along with a summer berry pudding with Westphalian ham and a sweet berry sauce. Our friends at Pinkerton Snack Bar and Galt Juice kept the drinks topped up all night until the last chartered ferry took everyone home. Thanks again to our brilliant sponsors: Samuel Adams, Boulart Bread, Botanist Gin, Marc’s Mushrooms, Off the Bone Meats, Steamwhistle Brewery, Cheese Boutique, West Avenue Cider, Trail Estate Winery, Southbrook Vineyards, Galt Juice and Floral Fetish Design.

We’ve already got the wheels in motion to make next year’s event equally as memorable as this one. A portion of ticket sales went to supporting Artscape and all of their initiatives raising art awareness, funding local artists and all of their endeavors city-wide.
